Lately I’ve noticed, that an awful lot of really good intentioned, and well meaning people keep posting a huge amount of horse shit on social networks in the name of good advice. They come up some really colourful outlook that in all actuality doesn’t add up to squat. Some of them will call others hypocrites and backstabbers, while they themselves really couldn’t be called any better. Given the opportunity they’d preach like a zealot on drugs. Sometimes I wonder what they would do if they were ever given a pulpit to preach from. The very thought scares me. A rabid drooling moron, spewing venom, and barking away at a mass audience of ignorant minds. "The Self Help Church of Facebook”, or “The Change Church of Twitter.” Whatever tickles your fancy. Some of them at least make an attempt to make it sound humorous, not that I really care, but hey if I can get a laugh out of it I guess I could at least count it as casual entertainment with a twist. But what really gets me is how people go about every day posting the same so called ‘self help/ change’ message over and over again.
It really surprises me when I think about the kind of stuff that gets passed off as ‘self help’ these days. People talking about change, and how change is constant. How they can bring in the change and that we all must change. While all I can see is history repeating itself over and over again. It’s the same old story every time. Guy wants to climb to the top – guy gets backstabbed in the bargain – guy complains about the whole world – guy preaches about change – guy backstabs someone else – guy wants to climb back on top. So nothing really ever changes per se. If I could really help myself I’d like to give these wannabe self helpers, these evangelists of change, a taste of their own concoction. But that would make me no different than them I guess. So all I’ll say is, if you’re selling “change,” pardon me but I’m not interested.
